Here's my version of the Yeast Starter Stir Plate. I had about half of the parts laying around from old computers and it was very easy to build. I've had a hard time with mine...beginning to think it's because the magnet I have is circular!?

I tried to post this yesterday but maybe I forgot to log in. My pictures above don't show it, but I had to break my magnet in half and flip one piece over so it had opposite polarity. Then I slid them back and forth on the washer and tested repeatedly until I had the best spacing. Otherwise my stir bar bounced around inside of the beaker instead of spinning.
