I'll be brewing the Yellow Diamond Belgian Ale for my first All Grain Brewing Session Today! It was posted on the AHA website recipe of the week from a month or so ago but comes from the book Radical Brewing. I also am using a yeast starter for the first time from my newly built stir plate. Thanks to that discussion in our last club meeting I couldn't resist building on and using it on my next batch. I've also moved the brew session to the garage where I'll be using my new burner and boil pot. Well its actually someone else's old turkey fryer but new for my process Lots of new steps today but I'm pretty excited to get started.

Have fun! I'm anxious to see how my first all-grain brew tastes. I've sampled it when taking readings and I impressed myself (but honestly, that doesn't take much). It is in the secondary right now and should be ready for our competition in Sept!

It was a blast and I hit at the high end of OG for the style at 1.054, could have added a bit more water but decided just to go with it. I guess the starter helped out quite a bit (or maybe it was the All Grain), because this is the first time my active fermentation started so well in the same day as the brew day. Good luck with your brown ale, can't wait to try some of the samples of everyone's entries since it's one of my favorite styles.

Did you get a chance to snap any pictures? If so, share 'em!

I'll get some pics up on Sunday, since I have a set of pics from the brew session and from the stir plate build. I just need to a bit of post processing to combine some of them into one image and lower the resolution a bit to fit on the forum.

I plan to, if all turned out as expected, very fruity aromas coming from the primary. Love that you have a Black Butte in your profile pic, its one of my favorites.
