I am entering my beer to the Alpha Brewing Competition and this is a recipe that I have created in order to meet the competition's requirements. I'm calling it "That's A WRAP". Let me know what you think!
Grain 9lbs Briess 2 Row 1.5lbs White Wheat Rye 1.5lbs Crystal 60
Hops .5 oz Cascade (60 min.) (moderate bitterness/floral notes) .5 oz Willamette (30 min.) (spicy aroma)
Spice additions 1 tbsp Cinnamon (15 min.) 1 tsp Nutmeg (5 min.) ½ tsp All Spice (5 min.) 1 oz Orange Zest (5 min.)
1 Vanilla Bean in the (secondary) AND/OR Vanilla Flavor 3lbs Granny Smith Apples (secondary) AND/OR 2 gallons Apple Juice
I will be mashing at a high temperature to give the beer more body. What temperature? Like 159/160?
Any suggestions on grain/malt please let me know. It really is the first full recipe that I put together.
